There is an Ocean Within Our Mind

 

THE MANTHANA

There is a manthana within our minds
a tremendous churning of thought, all the time.

The good and the bad fight it out
and win and lose 
each day, the same old bout.

Should i, should i not,
is it right ? 
is it fair? 
does it matter if it's wrong
do i really care?

There is an Ocean within our mind
a sea of objects to find, emotions to bind
And so it goes
twist and turn and twist again
day after day
after day
a manthan in our minds.

And so it goes
and then one day,
We turn to find 
lurking in the heart
Shiva,
a drinker of all the poison spill
of poison thought
Shiva, timeless owner of the heart.
And one day,
we finally follow that heart,
we finally,
follow that heart.
